We hope that everyone is having a wonderful fall. Another great summer has come to a close and construction projects are scurrying to finish up, but project development and planning never sleep. We are looking forward to October's presentation on "Tracking Progress and Charting the Future with the AMATS Interim 2035 Metropolitan Transportation Plan" on October 6th.
 ITE Beer & Wine Tasting. Don't forget to keep your evening open on November 14th. The ITE Beer & Wine Tasting Scholarship Fundraiser is shaping up and it is promising to be a spectacular event! Tickets are available for $50 from one of the event planners. We will also have tickets at the October meeting. We are also collecting silent auction items and would love any ideas and help with that. If you have questions or are interested in helping, please contact Erica Jensen EJensen@crweng.com.  
ITS Annual Meeting. The Intelligent Transportation Society of Alaska is holding their 7th Annual Meeting on October 20th and 21st, 2015. This is a great opportunity for continuing education and to learn about other areas of Transportation Engineering. Please register before October 13th.

Scholarship Applications are available now.

The Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) Alaska Section is seeking candidates for the 2015 Scholarship Program. One (1) scholarship of $2,000 and two (2) scholarships of $1,500 will be awarded. It is desired that the recipients attend the September ITE luncheon meeting on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 where the scholarships will be presented.

UAA student Meet and Greet

Notice: there is an upcoming opportunity to do a Meet and Greet with UAA engineering students.

The UAA College of Engineering Alumni Chapter and Student Societies are hosting a Meet and Greet on Friday, January 30, 2015 from 6pm to 8pm.

The event will be held in the Consortium Library in Room 307.
 

Honeywell and Alumni Relations are generously sponsoring food for the event.

The goal is to socialize with the students, fellow alumni, faculty and staff. Working engineers and alumni are invited to share their experiences/benefit of being involved in student chapters or in professional ones. Why do you think membership – and more importantly, participation – is important?

You are also invited to share advice (solicited from the students).

What: IMSA Signal Technician Level 1

When: March 11 & 12, 8:30 to 4:30, with one hour break for lunch. If you want to challenge the exam, it will be held on the 12th after lunch check for details.

Cost: For the training, including exam, $300 for IMSA members, $350 for non-members. Challenge exam $100. You will need to provide your own manual. If you want to borrow, the latest revision is 2011. If you want to buy a manual it is $60 for members, $70 for nonmembers plus shipping. Be sure to order your manual at least 4 weeks in advance of the class from www.imsasafety.org

Where: MOA Transit administration building , 3600 Martin Luther King Ave, 2nd floor conference room.
