Design Implementation Workshop
This 4 hour workshop provides engineers and planners with technical Complete Streets design implementation tools and the foundation necessary to more routinely create Complete Streets networks that serve all users. As a result of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Describe the benefits of adopting an effective Complete Streets policy and deploying four strategies for its effective implementation.
- Examine design research, best practices, standards, guides, and technical tools that help design professionals balance and meet the needs of all users.
- Describe technical design flexibility within current design guides and standards.
- Assess and identify appropriate next steps toward adoption of an effective Complete Streets policy.

ITE Alaska Scholarship
The Institute of Transportation Engineers Alaska Section is seeking candidates for the 2014 Scholarship Program. One (1) scholarship of $1,500 and two (2) scholarships of $1,000 will be awarded. It is desired that the recipients attend the September ITE luncheon meeting on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 where the scholarships will be presented.
These scholarships are available to full‐time, undergraduate student, with junior or senior standing for Fall 2014 enrollment, and enrolled in an accredited engineering program, (University of Alaska preferred).
Applications must be completed and postmarked on or before April 30, 2014.
